My Life With Stenosis

Living With Spinal Stenosis

Move In Day

We’ve had Stop, Drop, and Roll move in and now Greensboro is my official home. I haven’t met any roommates yet, but I do know one of them did Stop, Drop, and Roll. No one did Early Arrival like I did, so I’ve had the apartment to myself and will until Wednesday. Wednesday is orientation and next Tuesday is the first day of classes. I am completely looking forward to the new academic year. Things are getting more real now as I’ve gotten things in my backpack and other bag as well as my textbooks for the semester. Everything is completely unpacked and decorated the way I want it. I might enter my room into the best dressed room contest. It’s nothing really fancy, but it’s home.

What I can say, however, is moving furniture around the way I want it didn’t help my back at all. I was in so much pain last Friday that come Saturday I could hardly move. So I don’t think I’ll be rearranging things anymore this year and I might not next year. Unless, that is, I have help. Moving in was a pain and I know that move out will be just as painful. But I plan to be more prepared than I was before. But, I have a year to think and plan on it. For now, I get to enjoy the college experience for my Sophomore year. As I’ve finally quit moving things in and decorating, the pain in my back is easing up. And, I’ll have a few days after orientation to just rest and get to know my roommates before classes start.

Until next time gang!
