My Life With Stenosis

Living With Spinal Stenosis

chronic-pain

  • Well, what can I say, the pain that had been gone for quite some time has came back with avengence. I truly can’t tell if it’s the arthritis pain (yep, that’s in my spine too) or stenosis pain. I’m leaning more towards the arthritis pain since it’s not radiating down my legs. I just hurt Read more

  • Things were going great this week until yesterday. I thought I would give my hand a try at yard work. I started out taking a pain pill because of some other issues but as far as my back was concerned, I was great. We were halfway finished with our first yard when the pain started. Read more

  • While this isn’t stenosis related, at least this first part, I have had to have another surgery. I believe I mentioned it in a previous post, but it was related to some other issues that I had previously. While those issues have resolved themselves now, it was a bit touch and go for a little Read more

  • It’s been a fairly uneventful week. I’ve had tons of homework and a project for Biology that I put off until the last couple of weeks. • Neurosurgery

Wednesday was my appointment with neurosurgery and it went pretty much as expected. I was, however, pleasantly surprised that they didn’t decide to poke around on my back. This was the first appointment that I’ve had for my back that didn’t involve me leaving in pain. We discussed the Intracept procedure in detail and decided Read more

  • Turns Out I Was Wrong

Welp, I found out Wednesday that I actually will be seeing neurosurgery. I’m assuming it’s for the ‘surgery’ that I will eventually have. It feels really weird to say that I have a neurosurgeon now. Having a spinal doctor was bad enough, along with an orthopedic surgeon for the knee problems, but now I have Read more

  • Snow Days

We’ve had snow this past week. While usually the only thing affected is migraines; this time the pain in my back was the worst it’s been. That being said, I was able to manage it with Ibuprofen and muscle relaxers. Before the snow came, I had gotten a balance board and was able to start Read more

  • I had been waiting for this day for about four or five weeks. I had been having excruciating pain in my back and knew that the ablation had worked before and it would work again. Leading up to this appointment I have been having horrible pain and no matter what I had done nothing helped. Read more
